MP3: Lotus Plaza – “Monoliths”

Lotus Plaza – Monoliths

Lotus Plaza’s new album Spooky Action at a Distance is receiving all sorts of acclaim. The guitar-pop project headed by Deerhunter multi-instrumentalist Lockett Pundt is at an all-time peak in terms of recognition. A track like “Strangers“, which was included in this month’s compilation, is one reason why. As a whole, Spooky Action at a Distance presents a mixture of concisely melodic ballads, like “Jet Out of the Tundra” ,and unrestrained rockers like “White Galactic One” and – in a sense – “Monoliths”, which was made available yesterday by Kranky Records. Stream it above. It’ll likely convince you to listen to the album, if you haven’t already.
