Fuzz Queen – “Cream Machine”

New Zealand garage rockers Fuzz Queen keep glam alive on “Cream Machine”, a song from their new EP Wizard Love. Theatrical vocals pierce through the distorted riffs and rollicking drums, making for song that sounds like a Mick Jagger/Jimi Hendrix hybrid fronting Tame Impala. While the ’70s is a clear influence, the soaring solos are straight ’80s arena rock. There’s no shortage of bombast here. Fuzz Queen live up to their namesake with melodically fuzzy guitars, anthemic vocal melodies reminiscent of T. Rex, and an overall heavy spin on psych-rock and glam of the past. Yet another excellent rock group out of New Zealand.
