Secret Weapons – “Perfect World”

secret weapons

“Perfect World” is a colorfully anthemic electro-rocker from Secret Weapons, a Brooklyn-based duo whose debut single “Something New” made blog-based waves. After an intro that teases the chorus, the verses show themselves as relatively subdued, with fluttering synth arps accompanying the readying vocals. “If we were in a perfect world,” the vocals exult as the chorus arrives, showing an effervescent hook that’s radio-friendly but also with stylish nonchalant alternative/synth-rock appeal, reminiscent of The Killers. The duo just started a tour with Phoebe Ryan, Weezer, Panic! at the Disco and Fall Out Boy, before appearing at Lollapalooza and Bumbershoot.
