The Slang – “Night and Day”

the slang

The Slang’s new 5-song EP, Night and Day, was mentioned in our feature of the track “Breakthrough”, though the excellent self-titled track from that release needs some lovin’ as well. The act – comprised of songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist John Bobo and bassist John Newsome – show great strengths here, with male/female combining vocals, warm jangly guitars, and a lush organ-laden interlude around the two-minute mark culminating in a strong effort that reminds of ’90s alternative, like a more structurally daring Matchbox 20 or Midway State. Look for the duo to be on tour in support of the Night and Day EP this fall.
