Gypsy Cabs – “Blue Skies”

gypsy-cabs

London-based Gypsy Cabs have a great track to lift you out of the Monday blues, entitled “Blue Skies”. With a summer-y and twangy chorus featuring carefree ooh-ing back vocals and a sharp lead, the track hooks easily, reminding of Smith Westerns’ infectious vibes and fusion of pop with psych-rock. Some effectively melodic guitar stylings close the final few seconds out nicely, wrapping up this excellent effort from Gypsy Cabs.

The quartet – comprised of Mike Harker (guitar, vocals), Byron Blakely (guitar), Omar Risk (bass) and Adam Rodgers John (drums) – are presently gigging throughout London, “testing the waters with their forthcoming EP written, performed, recorded, mixed and produced by Mike Harker in his flat in Bethnal Green, with drums by Tom Larthe de Langladure.”
