Vagabond Specter – “Half A Billion Miles”

Vagabond Specter was formed by vocalist Pablo Specter and guitarist/keyboardist/producer Yuriy Smalius, who met in Kiev in 2014. Recently, the (now) four-piece opened for notable alt-rockers Garbage, their star is on the rise. In addition to that, the Ukrainian duo show a great balance of atmosphere and hookiness on their new single. The starry-eyed, spacey appeal of “Half A Billion Miles”, off their upcoming new album out January 25th, resonates well, with relaxed and complacent vocals navigating loopy synth arpeggios and crisp keyboard arrangements, with some nice proto-punk moments like the melodic transition at 02:20, somewhere between the stars.

It’s a nice showing from a promising upcoming release.
