Loz KeyStone – “How Is It”

To Feel Love is an album that has been in the works for two years, beginning shortly after the death of the artist’s father. Not much is known about the London-based project Loz KeyStone, though what’s highly apparent is that his music captures a highly atmospheric, emotional vein of pop that’s pure and memorable. With multi-layered vocal production that reminds of Ariel Pink’s earlier lo-fi work, though with a lush electronic assortment somewhat in the vein of The Radio Dept., Loz KeyStone produces music that sounds immediately quaint, yet also packs a powerful edge — as evidenced on album track “How Is It”. It seems that Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins / Bella Union) agrees. ” I sent the album to Simon awhile back and he offered me use of the Bella Union studio in London to finish it off,” Loz KeyStone explains. “This song is the first finished product of those sessions.” Sweepingly atmospheric with an excellent use of ghostly various vocal layers, “How Is It” is a very enticing effort that makes me greatly anticipate the rest of To Feel Love.

5/15 Update: The track’s music video was just released. Stream it below:
