SIDIZEN KING – “Roll the Dice”

/

SIDIZEN KING’s January single, “Stuck in the Middle”, was a strong showing of electronica and hip-hop cohesion, with a hook-y chorus and smooth verses showcasing a playful vocal presence and swelling electro-pop backing. The LA-based singer/songwriter hit my radar with that one, and now with new single “Roll the Dice” he impresses even more. Sid showcased several new, unreleased tracks at this year’s SXSW, and found that “Roll the Dice” was received very warmly. Hearing it, it’s not hard to comprehend why. Funky synth trickles and a soulful vocal backing give way to Sid’s precise vocals, with ample versatility in the vocal tone and production throughout the verses to maintain diversity. “Ooh baby, won’t you roll the dice and see where it goes?” he asks during the hook, complemented wonderfully by the vocals of Kendra Mack. It’s a lush gem that speaks to the beauty of opportunity and new love, within an infectious melody and strong production typical of SIDIZEN KING at this point.
