Holander – “Little Less Shy”

/

Holander crafts radio-friendly electro-tinged pop out of Los Angeles, culling from inspirations like MØ, Hailee Steinfeld, and The 1975. She aims for her music to empower listeners, with a philosophy of resilience and unbridled positivism. She also is an actor; fans of HBO’s House of Lies may recognize her from a 2015 episode, as Vanessa.

On her musical end, “Little Less Shy” is a fine pop effort with a clanging guitar presence and polished, electro-tinged hook. The “ooh-ooh-baby” hook works well, as does the bridge at the two-minute mark, simplistic in its lyrical yearning, though punchy and melodic enough to distinguish from other similarly melded pop music. It’s the type of summer-friendly pop with the potential to ascend the charts.
