RAT!hammock – “Love You Til I Die”

Melbourne rockers RAT!hammock recently released their new single “Love You Til I Die”, a great showing of the group’s suavely effective songwriting. Led by the songwriting of Jackson Phelan and a mutual fondness for ’90s rock, RAT!hammock is a project that balances rock familiarity with some twists of their own. Scruffy, lo-fi rock adorns the initial verses, with the occasional backing twang suggesting something more — which culminates in a contagious chorus reminiscent of Real Estate, with expansive guitar jangles complementing a slightly surf-y feel. It all works great.
