“Gold Face” is the contagious and atmospheric new single from REIGHNBEAU (Bryce Hample), featuring Shey Mertz (Bk Beats) and vocalist Colleen Johnson. It pursues a bouncier, more effervescent feel than the atmospheric though murkier tracks on his previous EP, Hide. Ghostly melodies take a backseat in favor of more immediate pop synths, with Johnson’s angelic vocals playfully chopped up and sampled with melodic precision. There’s still a haunting, otherworldly vibe here — though also a fun inclination toward the brighter pop spectrum, a navigational choice that works well within the gleeful production and ethereal vocal usage.
