Blakeley – “Caffeine & Nicotine”

/

Brooklyn-based act Blakeley pursues a successful vein of “electronic rockabilly” on new track “Caffeine & Nicotine”, featuring the track’s title in a chorus that provides a dose of sweet anthemic allure in between the alt-rock-geared verses. The variation between bubblegum-pop hooks and more rockin’ verses is a nice example of Blakeley’s eclectic reach, with the rockabilly-minded guitar solo around 01:36 adding some nice variation.

Blakeley is currently at work on an EP with Happy Hound Records, set for release at the end of 2017. Blakeley’s “Caffeine & Nicotine” shows commendable stylistic charm and attitude, making for a memorable release that stands out from her more EDM-minded tracks of the past.
