Ed Ling – “Windsurfers”

/

Fond of sophisti-pop in the vein of Prefab Sprout and The Blue Nile, as well as cinematic gusto from the likes of Ennio Morricone and John Barry, Ed Ling draws from influence that value both the intensity of atmosphere and the riveting potential of melody — delivered with a suave, moody vocal presence. Ling’s new track “Windsurfers” is a powerful success, shining particularly as his vocals sulk beautifully over a blissful guitar arpeggio in the chorus, repeating words like “silhouette” and “come to this” — beautifully capped by a backing female vocal. “Windsurfers” is a stunning track that develops with natural beauty.

Ed’s second album Aside From Sadness will be released in February.
