Based out of Stockholm, Sweden, Helga Arvesten incorporates her uniquely effective vocal presence with atmospheric pop songwriting, reaching majestic heights akin to Adele at points. New track “Don’t Speak”, the second of a trio of singles due in 2018 for Arvesten, rides on a wintry and bouncy piano line, as her quivering and powerful vocals lead the way. The hypnotic effect of the piano rises alongside upticks in percussion and, at 02:12, an entry of Kate Bush-esque string-laden emotion. It’s a powerful build-up for a strong track and exemplary of Arvesten’s presence.
