Kyle Meadows – “Goin’ Down”

/

“Goin’ Down” is a brand new track from Kyle Meadows, touting a serene melodic flow, with an aesthetic reminiscent of Kurt Vile and Elliott Smith. Previously featured with 2016 track “Low Time Call“, Meadows continues to refine his sound, still seeped in acoustics though with a more expansive shimmer with touches of keys and soft percussion. “Goin’ Down” is a melodically beautiful effort, serene and captivating.

“I’ve been playing guitar since i was 13 and started writing and recording my own music when I was 15 or 16, after reading an interview with Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse, where his advice to young artists was to buy a $99 tape recorder and put your music online. I started taking it more seriously in 2012 and released my first album in 2015,” Kyle explains.

“The song (Goin’ Down) started out as an acoustic song, but I felt it could be a bit more upbeat with added instrumentation. The theme behind the music video is more so a playful movie to the darkness of the song. It’s a very fun video, and I’ve always been fascinated by the way rabbits look, so I wanted to utilize all the props I had lying around. They are probably my favorite animal, second to cats of course.”
