The Faded North – “State I’m In”

/

Released on Monday, “State I’m In” is a new single blending shoegaze-y sentiments with post-rock rhythms and indie-rock, a success on all fronts for The Faded North, who hail from Britain though presently call Vienna home. They aptly classify their sound as “heavy pop” — noting how their hook-y, pop sentiments are often hidden “behind reverb and cymbals.” Enjoyably, the quality songwriting is not understated. “State I’m In” works off a fluid guitar lead and developing post-punk rhythms into a beautiful layering of textures by the mid-point. Following this successful single, the band intends to release their second EP in the late spring.
