Scott Chasolen – “Limbo”

/

“Limbo” is an emotional new track from Scott Chasolen, who describes it as “a true story about the purgatory between togetherness and divorce. I wrote it while my marriage was hanging in thin air, unsure what direction it would go.” The northern New Jersey native is known for his work as a keyboardist with instrumental band ulu, who he played with from 1997-2005 at a variety of festivals and venues. Scott’s own songwriting incorporates folk, rock, and jazz elements alongside his personal, introspective lyrics. “Limbo” shows this off, with brisk acoustics leading the charge, though nicely accompanied by lushly melodic piano around the mid-point. It’s a pleasant effort that melds folk, rock, and jazz, just as intended.

“Limbo” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2018’ Spotify playlist.
