The Angel Makers – “Things That I Forget”

The Angel Makers are a duo from Colchester, England with a hauntingly memorable sound, which on “Things That I Forget” incorporates the ghostly croon of Shauna Kelly with psych-friendly guitar effects and twangs. “Our songs have a general focus on melody and atmosphere, with often existential, romantic and introspective lyrics,” the duo explains, drawing influence from classic ’60s pop as well as ’90s shoegaze. Mazzy Star’s lushest efforts come to mind as a point of comparison, as do the darker The Clientele efforts and Marissa Nadler. Comparisons aside, The Angel Makers showcase a darkly haunting sound on their own throughout their debut release, the 15-track The Angel Makers, streaming in full below:
