Tyler Miles – “Think and Spin”

Tyler Miles, a member of previously featured California-based rockers The Black Suns, produces solo material with a darkly entrancing feel. Completely self-produced and in a “kinda lo-fi electro-psych” vein, the excellent “Think and Spin” is in an Ariel Pink/John Maus vein, with haunting vocal nonchalance navigating across an assortment of slabs of guitar and bouncy synths. It’s a strongly memorable effort, one that mixes atmospheric darkness with bouncy, psych-friendly melodic wit.
