There are few bands today that are immediately distinctive and The Walkmen are most certainly not excluded from that list. Seeing this band open for Fleet Foxes (on the opposite side of the island of Manhattan about a month earlier) was an incredible treat. The dynamics of their shows are incredible - reaching from slow, sultry ballads of singer Hamilton Leithauser to the fist-pumping excitement of Maroon's blistering Rickenbacker guitar on the heavier tracks. I recommend The Walkmen to anyone who likes a good, mature live show with an arch.
