Zaritza – “Diseased”

/

After impressing with “Flashing Lights” late last year, Zaritza is back with a fierce new track that again showcases a riveting alternative pop/rock hybrid. The chorus – “I believe that we are diseased” – and the guitar solo at 01:52 certainly echo the rock sentiments, with slabs of guitars during the verses accompanying a more nonchalant vocal lead in this section. The “I don’t care anymore,” lead-in to the chorus plays well. The album is off Zaritza’s self-titled breakout debut album, with lyrics continuing to “reflect a life between two worlds, as an American who came from Russia, she explores themes that we all can relate to — love, identity, alienation, dreams, disappointments — amplified through her experiences, and struggles, as an immigrant.”

“Diseased” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2018’ Spotify playlist.
