Laney Tripp – “La La”

///

“La La” is a beautifully melodic effort from Laney Tripp, a Florida-based artist currently releasing music independently through AWAL. Tripp’s first EP came in September 2018 with Small, recorded in her childhood bedroom. “La La” was also recorded there, converging bedroom-pop endearment with impressively sharp, swirling production. Evident on Small and “La La” is a chilled-out demeanor fit for beach-set listening, while showing off smart pop hooks and creative structural twists. The marimba-like touches of keys give off a relaxing vibe, while the “always trying,” hook at 01:07 shows off a swaying, hypnotic charm. The series of key-touched hooks around 01:50 is another striking component. “La La” is a consuming piece of chilled-out pop.

Look out for Laney Tripp’s second EP, Doing Fine, on November 15th.

“La La” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Catchy Indie Pop.
