Goldrain – “Dragonfly”

//

“Dragonfly” is the stirring debut single from London-based act Goldrain, released today. They describe the track as “a song about self-reflection, focusing on losing connection with your inner child and going on to live a life that you have not consciously chosen.” “Dragonfly” touts a cool, jazzy feel throughout, certainly affirming of the band’s confident aesthetic despite this being just their first release. Soulful vocals and swelling organ presence makes for an engaging initial pull. Following is engrossing jazzy/lounge-y expansion during the chorus. A suave guitar twang follows past the mid-point, adding further seduction. “Dragonfly” is certainly a positive start for this act.

“Dragonfly” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2020’ Spotify playlist.
