An immersive piece of melodic electronica, the new remix of “odeon” sees Vilnius-based producer Rushkeys reinvent muuju‘s original track. Merging dreamy keys, spacey synths, and a bouncy house groove, Rushkeys (aka, Domas Ruškys) shapes a nocturnal soundscape that flows seamlessly between downtempo introspection and organic, dancefloor-ready movement.

A dreamy, subdued twinkling of keys melds with steady rhythmic pulses as the track gets underway, blissfully atmospheric as a subtly soaring vocal sample lingers sporadically in the background. The gradual fading-in of a bouncy, house-ready synth element is accomplished seamlessly, and that electronic element persists cohesively throughout amidst the pitter-pattering rhythms and mellow acoustic tones. Starry-eyed synths round the one-minute turn with spacey mystique; at the 1:20 mark, the track delivers an especially impactful moment as the rhythms fade momentarily to make room for a ghostly, distant vocal element.

The two-minute mark unveils a percussive re-emergence amidst bustling synth vibrancy, immersion driven by a balance of house-friendly infectiousness and tranquilly atmospheric electronic consistency. Rushkeys’s remix of “odeon” is a tour-de-force in atmosphere and melody, championing muuju’s excellent original and transforming into something with more nocturnal, electronic movements. It marks another remixing success from Rushkeys, who has caught our ears with remixes in the past, of tracks like Mookee’s “Anhaga” and Peter Vogelaar’s “Biakoye.”

A retro-futuristic synthwave standout, “Disco Decoder” is a late-night electro-house single from Bucharest-based producer SLAPPER. Driven by a punchy 126 BPM groove, the track merges mechanical synthesizer tones and neon-lit basslines with symphonic pads, delivering an infectious burst of nostalgic, club-ready dancefloor momentum.

The production wastes no time establishing both an atmospheric and infectious electronic realm. Playful synths and booming bass converge with infectious qualities, melding with glimmering keys as a danceable neon-lit synth prowess takes hold at the 30-second mark. The synthwave spirit takes full hold from there, combining starry-eyed synth tones with nostalgic effervescence and driving rhythmic catchiness. Symphonic synth tones appear intermittently after the first minute, then giving way to an arpeggiated swiftness as the track’s midpoint approaches.

A spacious intrigue unveils as the final minute approaches, with a whirring synth line arriving into a gargling robotic-like effect and the re-entry of a string-like glow. The three-minute turn ushers back in the panting rhythmic steadiness with cohesive allure, then driving into a glistening, magnetic array of synths as the production comes to a definitive, satisfying close. “Disco Decoder” is another definitively atmospheric and grooving electronic success from SLAPPER, who has caught our ears with gems in the past like “Into the Light” and “The Break of Day.”

—

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Electronic.

An infectious electro and dance sound captivates across Omega Soul, a newly released EP from Adam Bogdan, the founder of Miami-based label Rapture’s Deli. Moving effortlessly between high-impact deep tech and hypnotic, atmospheric depths, the project showcases a versatile electronic sound built for the underground circuit. The collection ranges from driving, vocal-heavy cuts to laid-back late-night grooves, bolstered by fantastic remixes from Direkt and Sepp.

With over two decades immersed in the underground, Bogdan’s journey traces back to his Romanian roots, where he came up during the rise of the country’s influential minimal scene, shaped by artists like Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu, and Raresh. That foundation continues to inform his groove-first philosophy today, with his productions and DJ sets balancing minimal tech, deep tech, and house. With performances across Europe and the U.S. alongside respected names in the circuit, Bogdan has steadily carved out a distinct lane. Through Rapture’s Deli, he extends that vision further, bridging Miami and Europe with a sound rooted in hypnotic flow, rolling basslines, and late-night energy.

“Melting” opens the EP with an invigorating pulse, kickstarting with throbbing bass and snappy rhythms. Brassy spurts and soulfully wordless vocal charisma intertwine seamlessly throughout, matching the dancefloor-set rhythmic groove with an enthusiastic overall presence. The vocals assume a steadier presence around midpoint, while the bass takes a momentary backseat, re-emerging contagiously into the final minute. This opener dazzles in its showcase of both dance-ready electronics and soulful vocal flourishes.

The EP’s title track ensues, strutting a more debonair synth presence that excels in its spacey glimmering and gentle synth-bass ruminations. The percussive involvement remains heavy and catchy, like the opener, though this mix showcases a more understated enjoyment in its concise vocal cuts and synth tones — even as bass-y embraces, like at the one-minute turn, continue to delight. Direkt’s remix of “Omega Soul” enthralls as well, unveiling warming bass-heavy book-ends and a heady midsection, where bouncy rhythms and subtle vocal elements converge; it’s a more minimalist, yet equally impactful, take.

“Mika’s Monkey” is another gem, eventually reaching a bustling middle — though beginning and concluding in the dreamier realm, with illuminated synths and galloping bass pairing with lovely piano touches. Sepp’s remix of the track closes the EP, injecting further life into the mix with tighter grooves and pervasive vocal aspects, deeper and momentum-filled. Omega Soul is a stellar EP from Adam Bogdan, showcasing his danceable, grooving electronic sound, bolstered by excellent remixes from Direkt and Sepp.

Absorbing single “No Tomorrow” highlights the meticulous production style of Odense, Denmark-based artist Ron Zama, who builds immersive electronic landscapes via a combination of shimmering synths and warbled bass around a strong rhythmic core. Inspired by acts like Fred Again and Disclosure, Zama focuses on a creative process that balances high-energy drum sequences with cinematic, spacey atmospheres. This latest single showcases his ability to navigate between haunting, ambient beginnings and the fervent intensity of drum ‘n’ bass. A spacey, haunting ambience takes hold initially.
A spacey, haunting ambience takes hold initially. The “never was a today” refrain lingers throughout, the initial words often aided by the initial, otherworldly atmospheric intrigue — and the “today” push bolstered by a fervent drum ‘n’ bass, electro-pop intensity.

The production’s ability to traverse both artfully placed spaciousness and ensuing briskness is impressive throughout, weaving meticulously through shimmering mystique and an intensifying rhythmic core. The Danish artist captivates wtih a sound that balances atmospheric mystery and melodic immediacy, which on “No Tomorrow” results in a thoroughly memorable listening experience.

Rennes, France-based artist Harbinger immerses with memorable synthwave EP, Wavesyzer. Following his 2024 debut, Geoffroy — the artist behind the project, and also former drummer of Metro Verlaine — delivers a solo “live-machine” performance that bridges the gap between the retro-futurism of the space race and melancholic, danceable electronica. Space-themed influences pair with inspirations from artists like Jean-Michel Jarre, Kavinsky, and Daft Punk. Opening track “Nova” delights in its shimmering, spacious soundscape. Illuminated synth pads and pit-pattering percussion build with swelling momentum, attaining a melodic effervescence that flows throughout. Heavier rhythmic pulses signal the entry of grimy, buzzy synth additions,

Heavier rhythmic pulses signal the entry of grimy, buzzy synth additions, building into a starry-eyed glow with late-night driving suitability. Right away, Harbinger showcases an ability to succeed across both dreamily inviting realms and those with more fervent, infectious developments. Subsequent track “Solar” continues the heady atmospheric appeal, commencing with hazier synth tones that progress into a catchy blend of twinkling intensity and spritzy bass immersion.

Another standout track, “Hyperion” begins with a more muted introduction, with stabs of synths surrounded by a steady, head-nodding percussive appeal. Illuminated pads and bass-y synth drives coexist the rest of the way, lovably reminiscent of Oneohtrix Point Never in the contrast between serene and ardent electronic assortments; a midpoint spacey arpeggio is an especially enjoyable addition. Then comes EP finale “Titan,” which sounds fit for a sci-fi film in its space between initial haziness and whirring expanses, resembling a spaceship easing in and out of orbit. Atmospheric and melodic throughout, Wavesyzer is an excellent EP from Harbinger.

“Bee in the Cage” establishes a tranquil audible sanctuary from Cyprus-based artist Case Against Time, blending largely original field recordings with handcrafted electronic textures. Utilizing faulty synthesizers as “electric bees,” the production bridges ’90s computer-music paradigms with modern, slow-burn cinematic atmosphere. This lush, sample-laden journey achieves a Boards of Canada-esque vibrancy through a meticulous, human performance.

A distinctively outside setting is established via the immersive sounds of bird-chirping and buzzing bees. A warm, symphonic-like swell ensues following this atmospheric establishing, then quickly maneuvering into lush washes of synths — their buzzing tonal precision echoing the initial bees. A twinkling, graceful presence of keys emerges thereafter amidst a gently absorbing rhythmic backbone. The production delights in its gradual expanse of atmosphere, by midpoint achieving a glowing state of vibrancy that resembles Boards of Canada’s most relaxed productions.

A beautifully effervescent array of starry-eyed synths combine with the re-introduction of bird-chirping as the second half emerges. The blend of earth-set greenery, depictions of wildlife and sunny skies, contrasts intriguingly with synth tones that are distinctively in the space-set spectrum. As such, “Bee in the Cage” achieves an excellently dynamic atmospheric entrancement, succeeding across both sample-laden ambience and gorgeously affecting synth expansions. Blissfully cinematic in its artful progression and incorporation of samples, “Bee in the Cage” is an excellent track from Case Against Time.

—

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Electronic.

“The Break of Day” audibly captures the golden age of uplifting trance, representing a memorable output from Romanian producer SLAPPER. The project of Claudiu-Gabriel Tache, Slapper delivers a fulfilling 125 BPM listening experience that captures the hopeful essence of early-morning light, following a bustling night out. Its production balances nostalgic synth textures with a structured progression, delivering a lovely emotional payoff.

The production captures the simultaneous vibrancy and nocturnal allure of long, dance-heavy nights — its Ibiza-inspired sound conjuring a ’90s nostalgia through thumping rhythms, effervescent synths, and a climactic structural build. Initial synth pad pulsations craft a dreamily enticing soundscape, quickly bolstered in infectious form by throbbing, playful rhythms and a clanging additional synth line. Spacey buzzes also appear with sporadic entrancement, building into a starry-eyed glimmering just prior to the one-minute turn.

A brightly harmonious appeal takes particular hold as the two-minute mark approaches. There, glimmering synths and head-nodding rhythms assemble for a truly illuminated feeling. A comedown ensues as arp-y electronics and an absence of percussion form an understated atmospheric grip, then energizing into a final minute that satiates in its rhythmic returns and burbling synth elements. Cohesively melding an intriguing soundscape with a danceable sense of nostalgia, “The Break of Day” is an excellent new single from SLAPPER.

A fantastic fusion of nu-jazz and prog-jazz unveils across “Earthling,” a newly released single from Kinisi, the project of Atlanta native Speros Kokenes. Eight years later, Kinisi continues to captivate with a sound abundant in both memorably melodic charm and strongly intriguing soundscapes.

Also featuring Atlanta-based bi-musical collective Unk N’Nem, “Earthling” delights across a myriad of catching moments — from its initial jazzy late-night spell of percussive pitter-patter and glimmering keys, to a midpoint fervency of interchanging guitars and horns — then converging for a delectably replay-inducing passion. The conclusion is masterful as well, combining various aforementioned elements into a sound that’s impressively technical yet also structurally cohesive. “Earthling” is a thrilling success from Kinisi.

Cologne-based duo Kitbuilders return with Stupid Games, unveiling a striking hybrid of electro, new wave, IDM, and beyond. This release marks a long-awaited return for the partnership of singer Ripley and keyboarding Benway. Released via EC Underground, the album is a comprehensive journey through the duo’s legacy, gathering remastered archival gems alongside exclusive, unreleased material. From the whirring, grimy movement of “No Good (Version X)” to the atmospheric, otherworldly pull of “Slow Device,” the collection highlights the duo’s evolution from their 1997 origins to the present day.

Opening the album, “Tenderness” balances briskly captivating synth tones with a hypnotic vocal steadiness. Sturdy synth arps and clanging flashes of vibrancy coexist with a pulsing rhythmic presence to start, with sporadic backing glistening. “Will you tell me you won’t go with him? I’m sure that you will,” vocals let out with ominous intrigue, continuing with moody allure as brighter synth pad flourishes integrate seamlessly. The track is a masterclass in both mood and infectiousness, making for an apt commencement to a release that consistently impresses on both fronts.

Another standout track, “No Good (Version X)” exudes a whirring intensity for most of its duration — expanding from the initial industrial murkiness into effervescently charismatic synth and rhythmic interplay. Snippets of spoken-word entrancement appear beneath the fusing of arps and illuminated tones, falling back into a delectably grimy bridge around midpoint, and into a gripping “you’re no good for me” decisive vocal declaration.

The ensuing “Slow Device” also dazzles with a memorable atmospheric glow, notably more understated in its dreamier, spacey charm and ethereal yet otherworldly pull. The album’s title track invigorates as well, strutting a buzzy synth resonance and head-nodding percussive pulse that ventures wonderfully into an angsty vocal spiritedness and distorted rhythmic vigor. Stylish and melodic, Stupid Games is a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience.

Barcelona-based producer Mental Frank crafts a reflective electronic journey with “Edge Of Doubt,” a track shaped by personal transition and uncertainty. Built on a hypnotic 432 Hz foundation, the production mirrors an internal state through fluid, aquatic textures and subtle modulation. Eschewing traditional drops for a continuous, nocturnal flow, its production masterfully navigates the space between deep listening and dancefloor charisma. The track’s simmering, expansive quality resonates immediately, resembling a sort of swelling aquatic orchestra that moves with the ocean’s tides — spontaneously beautiful, though still within familiarly comforting confines. Buzzes of synths feel like ripples of water, easing in

Buzzes of synths feel like ripples of water, easing in and out with each wave. Meanwhile, sporadic pulses of bass commence a climactic allure that continues to unveil throughout the mix, as the rhythms grow wonderfully from understated, occasional precision to an all-enveloping hypnotic coziness.

A warm, fuzzy synth pad envelopment lingers consistently throughout the production’s second half, also not letting up in its hypnotic rhythmic presence until a final bass-y pulse. This buzzy presence resembles a more nocturnal, ominous swim through the waters, while the track’s first half struts a lusher, effervescent allure. The two parts coexist cohesively, navigating with melodically memorable charm as the vibey synths, steady rhythms, and expanse-ready soundscape dazzle with serenely replay-inducing prowess.
