muuju – “odeon” (Rushkeys remix)

/

An immersive piece of melodic electronica, the new remix of “odeon” sees Vilnius-based producer Rushkeys reinvent muuju‘s original track. Merging dreamy keys, spacey synths, and a bouncy house groove, Rushkeys (aka, Domas Ruškys) shapes a nocturnal soundscape that flows seamlessly between downtempo introspection and organic, dancefloor-ready movement.

A dreamy, subdued twinkling of keys melds with steady rhythmic pulses as the track gets underway, blissfully atmospheric as a subtly soaring vocal sample lingers sporadically in the background. The gradual fading-in of a bouncy, house-ready synth element is accomplished seamlessly, and that electronic element persists cohesively throughout amidst the pitter-pattering rhythms and mellow acoustic tones. Starry-eyed synths round the one-minute turn with spacey mystique; at the 1:20 mark, the track delivers an especially impactful moment as the rhythms fade momentarily to make room for a ghostly, distant vocal element.

The two-minute mark unveils a percussive re-emergence amidst bustling synth vibrancy, immersion driven by a balance of house-friendly infectiousness and tranquilly atmospheric electronic consistency. Rushkeys’s remix of “odeon” is a tour-de-force in atmosphere and melody, championing muuju’s excellent original and transforming into something with more nocturnal, electronic movements. It marks another remixing success from Rushkeys, who has caught our ears with remixes in the past, of tracks like Mookee’s “Anhaga” and Peter Vogelaar’s “Biakoye.”
