The Great Escape – “All I Think About”

the great escape

LA-based band The Great Escape seamlessly integrate elements of rock’s past and present to create a memorable sound with plenty of radio appeal. Amie Miriello’s passionate vocals will likely be the first thing to impress; her impressive range and emotive croon reminds of a less smoky Janis Joplin. Meanwhile, the solid instrumentation – courtesy of guitarist Malte Hagemeister and drummer Kristian Nord – touches on various stylistic elements, with a usual emphasis on bluesy rock ‘n’ roll in the vein of Black Keys and The Dead Weather.

The band has packed shows around their LA area thanks to energetic tracks like “All I Think About”, a cut off their new self-titled album released last month. With Miriello’s charismatic vocals crossed with Hagemeister’s intuitive guitar work and Nord’s full-of-personality percussive work, the sound is easy to get into and enjoy beyond the first listen.
