Overjoy – “Holiday”

An underwater-like grace exists during the beginnings of “Holiday”, where a gentle throbbing synth complements crisp vocals and evolving percussive snares into the crystallized hook just before the one-minute mark. The track is wonderfully lush, even as the percussive rumblings increase around 01:41 to present a darker edge. While there’s no surprising melodic shift to speak of, the rich yet relatively predictable structure makes for great hypnotic listening; it’s very easy to get lost in this otherworldly vein of aquatic electro-pop.

The track is off Overjoy’s new EP, Another, released today. The track’s video can be viewed below, and is aptly vey colorful and trippy:
