Nightcars – “I Was In A Dark Frame Of Mind (One Clouded By Worry)”

On their highly melodic new track “I Was In A Dark Frame Of Mind (One Clouded By Worry)”, Madrid-based quartet Nightcars showcase a contagious sound with a colorful yet evenly paced atmosphere. Propelled by fluttering synth arps, a sonorous vocal lead, and an anthemic central hook – “alone in this world” – the track is cohesive and inviting throughout, especially the concluding melody/hook. The sound in general reminds favorably of The Radio Dept.’s more upbeat material. Formed by four friends from Venezuela and Uruguay in 2016, Nightcars seem poised to rise.

The group’s new EP, Extended Play, is available on Spotify here.
