Premiere: Alexandra Angele – “21”

“21” is the title song off Alexandra Angele’s new four-song EP Willow Park. Clear keys and gentle trickles combine with an effective whistling snap, as the Jersey-born singer/songwriter flexes her lush vocals over brass-y flourishes and a growing electronic soundscape. Her eclectic influences – ranging from jazz and classical to popular music – are on display, with one of her chief inspirations in Regina Spektor being a fair vocal comparison. With crisp-clear production that incorporates elements of electro-tinged pop and classical-infused chamber-pop, “21” is a very strong showing from this new, quickly rising artist.
