Rebecca Schiffman – “Laura”

/

Rebecca Schiffman’s just-released music video for her melodic track “Laura” is based off Seinfeld‘s pilot episode, the track named after the love interest of Jerry (who wonders throughout the episode if she’s visiting NYC to see him, or just to use his apartment). The video is directed by Alec Coiro, and Rebecca’s friend Raina Hamner performs as Laura. You can also see Schiffman wearing the wig from the official Seinfeld costume. It’s an interesting and quirky music video success from Schiffman, who is a native New Yorker and has always held an affinity for Seinfeld. She’s a successfully eclectic artist, also finding success as a painter and jewelry designer (Grimes has frequently worn her jewelry, including at both 2016 Coachella performances), as well as having her music featured in Lena Dunham’s Tiny Furniture’ and Adult Swim’s Squidbillies.

Schiffman was also previously featured with her excellent track “Nico“. More of her material can be streamed via Soundcloud.
