Chiff – “Pool Party”

It’s approaching that time of year where, instead of accompanying summer, listeners seek tracks with a summer-minded soundscape to escape the perpetual arrival of brisker weather (unless you live in one of those gorgeous areas where it’s summer year-round). You can throw Chiff’s new single “Pool Party’ into the summer-yearning mix, a short hip-hop track with sun-shining vibes that was written specifically “about crushing on a girl at a pool party who already is with someone.” The project is vague in origin, though has an impressive Soundcloud with several notable efforts, including this one — where a gliding, aquatic beat meshes with a smooth-flowing delivery, with the occasional glistening synth arpeggio adding to the addictive flavor. Short, but very sweet.
