Florida rockers Lochness Monster recall fun, punk-tinged alternative of the ’90s, with names like Weezer and Sunny Day Real Estate coming to mind. Their track “Pixie Cut” shows this well, with suave distortion leading a yearning verse that transitions into an anthemic, fuzzy hook that just shouts ’90s alt-rock nostalgia. Lochness Monster, which formed in 2014, just released their first full-length LP Fables in January, with the release hitting the CMJ charts for several weeks. “Pixie Cut” is a memorable cut off that release, with radio appeal.
