Gian Perez – “Mom and Dad”

With a bouncy organ lead that sounds fondly familiar (Childish Gambino is a fan of the tone throughout his latest), “Mom and Dad” is an immediately engrossing track that recalls ’70s pop, funk, and soul. The track comes courtesy of Gian Perez, an emerging artist out of Ann Arbor, Michigan who just released his debut album, Baby Blue, on October 20th. “Mom and Dad” is one of several highlights from that release, written as a tribute to parents. In the final minute, a swanky and impressive organ solo rides the track into the sunset, its charisma and soul intact.
