Our Fathers – “Meet You at the Pool Hall”

/

Chicago act Our Fathers seem poised to release one of the year’s most impressive releases with their upcoming Good is Good, if the excellent “Meet You at the Pool Hall” is any indication. Rainy-day keys and vocals head the intro, with Madeline Julia Smith’s entrancing croon ascending from light and airy in the verses to emotive passion in the chorus, which is complemented by a dancing array of synths, returning with even more oomph just past the two-minute mark. The general vibe reminds very favorably of TOPS throughout, placing Our Fathers squarely on my radar for one of 2018’s biggest risers.
