Ryan Hutchens – “Green My Eyes”

/

Ryan Hutchens’ new album The Last Ten Years is fittingly named, with the release being ten years in the making. The time was worth it, though, culminating in a striking blend of folk, bluegrass, acoustic, and rock. The release’s themes arose out of Hutchens’ time in Columbia, South Carolina over this past decade, before relocating to Denver this year. Several of the tracks are re-recorded tracks on earlier albums under the alias Cancellieri. Today, Hutchens has transitioned from more electronic and experimental styles of the past, into a more natural-sounding arsenal, highlighted on opening track “Green My Eyes”, where his stirring vocals provide an authentic fervor over elegant folk-laden guitars.
