Gabe Greenland – “Humanish”

/

“Humanish” is a track released today from Gabe Greenland, a Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter/producer from Los Angeles. He plays an authentic vein of folk with sophisti-pop elements, recalling the likes of Magnetic Fields and Jonathan Richman. The touch of delicate, female vocals on the track recalls a sophisti-pop feel reminiscent of Prefab Sprout. The contrast between these vocals and Greenland’s nasally lead is striking, and enjoyably so. Acoustic guitars and slight percussion comprise the bulk of the arsenal, with spurts of brass-like playfulness emerging at points. “Humanish” is an enjoyable release from Greenland.

“Humanish” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2018’ Spotify playlist.
