Nic Pool – “Rockets”

/

Nic Pool is an artist from Tucson, Arizona, whose new track “Rockets” captivates in its development from spacious murkiness to gliding guitars and rhythmic perkiness. The soaring vocals are a continuous element throughout, with the track hitting its stride just after the one-minute mark, when the fluid guitar work coincides with vocal escalation. An impressive moment occurs at 02:25, when a whirring bass line and anthemic fervor surrounds Pool’s “rocket” repetition. The track keeps building, rewarding listeners with enjoyable melodic turn after turn. “Growing, up no one really understood me, even in my own family, and my imagination was just on fire from a young age,” Nic explains. “‘Rockets’ is an ode to that feeling of wanting to escape your surroundings and a fascination with all things intergalactic.”

“Rockets” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Rock 2018.
