Kin Kanyon – “Until There Was You”

Released today, “Until There Was You” is a new single from Canadian psych-rockers Kin Kanyon, who will be releasing their sophomore EP Relics Left Behind in early December. They incorporate a love for ’60s and ’70s rock with new, creative ideas, as evident on “Until There Was You.” This one starts with warbling and soaring vocals, which show a smooth Prince-like charisma upon the soulful croon at 00:35. The vocals remain a strong force throughout, even as mounting guitars increase in prominence as the track progresses. The final minute or so unveils a lusher exterior, as the vocals plead “don’t hide your love from me.” It’s a satisfying finale to a smooth-flowing, confident success.

“Until There Was You” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2018’ Spotify playlist.
