The Flings – “Looking on Down the Line”

The timeless-sounding “Looking on Down the Line” is a new track from The Flings, recalling acts like The Band and their ability to infuse mellow aesthetics, twangy guitars, and warm vocals into a memorable sound. The serene croon, guitar twangs, and key/organ additions play beautifully on this track, which the band describes as “a manifestation of past relationships and the maddening mania of welcoming new love.” This is a track that’s exceedingly easy to get lost in. I’m quite enjoying the project’s aesthetic, and look forward to their forthcoming releases.

“Looking on Down the Line” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Folk-Rock.
