Maddie Jay – “Little Love”

/

The very melodic “Little Love” is the latest release from Maddie Jay, a bassist, producer, writer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles. A yearning lead melody, parts synth and string-like pull, kicks the effort off. The artist’s vocals arrive with lush precision shortly thereafter, complemented warmly by jangly guitars and a mellow bass line. The one-minute sees the return of the synth lead, now aligning warmly with the vocals and tranquil rhythms. “Little Love” is a melodically satiating listen in its entirety.

“This is a song about cuffing season,” Maddie says. “I filmed the video in my garage and I had to cut out 120 stars by hand from glitter paper and glue them to fishing line and it was a huge pain but I think it turned out pretty nice.”

“Little Love” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2019’ Spotify playlist.
