Miss Cactus & the Desert – “Dating School”

/

Smooth brass adornments and a ska-tinged guitar progression help lead “Dating School” into captivating territory. The catchy track comes via Miss Cactus & the Desert, an act from Boston led by Mexican, Jersey-grown artist and dancer Alondra. The track thematically touches on Miss Cactus’ “experience growing up with sexist traditions as a woman of color and seeing these matters play a role when it comes to the dating world.” Bustling and with ample melodic fervor, “Dating School” touts vibrancy in the brass arrangements, involved rhythm section, and entrancing vocals. The project released its debut EP Oasis this month.

“Dating School” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2019’ Spotify playlist.
