The Paper Flowers – “Stop!”

/

Los Angeles duo The Paper Flowers craft synth-pop with catching hooks and nocturnal appeal throughout their debut EP In a Different Life. Among the release’s highlights is “Stop!” — a vibrantly melodic synth-popper that melds the lush pop of The Radio Dept. with a romantically yearning sophisti-pop edge reminiscent of Prefab Sprout. The “just stop,” features beautifully interwoven vocals over a lushly enveloping synth pad, with an ’80s-esque guitar solo following in captivating form. Melodically, the track touts ample replay value. It’s a striking effort, on an album with some notable highlights, including the atmospheric and more slow-burning opener “Start Over New.”
