Erotic Harry – “Go Yo”

/

Danish act Erotic Harry impress throughout their new 5-song release Marked by Exclamation. Their colorful, synth-pop sound is on display throughout bouncy highlight “Go Yo,” which touts a hooky sound reminiscent of The Tough Alliance. Airy, melodic vocals are accompanied by a chirping synth lead and a backing bouncy beat, producing a suavely infectious effort. The release has several other highlights, as well. “Never Leave” touts a huskier vocal presence, with a hypnotic post-punk-like charm in the tonal delivery amidst the effervescent synths. Meanwhile, “The Tats” start with a dream-pop allure, before showcasing some interesting experimental vocal tones reminiscent of early Ariel Pink. This is a fine release, recommended for fans of inventive synth-pop.

“Go Yo” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Catchy Electro and Synth-Pop.
