Joan Torres’s All Is Fused – “Revolution”

Revolution is the latest material from Joan Torres’s All Is Fused, a project that has impressed with multiple albums in the past half decade. Revolution completes the phrase from the project’s previous three albums: Before in 2012, The Beginning in 2014, and Of the Musical in 2016. Combined with the newest release, they comprise the words “Before the Beginning of the Musical Revolution” — encompassing a narrative of sorts over four chapters, all showcasing the project’s talented musicianship and compositions along the way. Fans of jazz fusion are likely to enjoy Revolution, which features a rousing start in the self-titled track, with menacing guitars, brass, and a vibrantly active rhythm section. From there, it’s very easy to sink one’s teeth into this well-made album.

“Revolution” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2019’ Spotify playlist.
