Just In The City – “I’ll Follow” (feat. Richlee)

/

“I’ll Follow” exemplifies clear, captivating electronic-pop production from Just In The City, the project of Long Beach-based Justin Juarez, and produced by Richlee Arpon. The budding, atmospheric beginning is marked by a lingering synth sound and emotive vocal presence, which is quickly accompanied by a glistening synth arpeggio. Tonally, the vocals bear a likeness to Win Butler. The synths swell past the one-minute mark as pulsating vocal effects add an infectious feel, with 01:16 bringing forth a snappier synth-pop sound with more concise percussive accompaniments and various synth tones. Soaring effects around the three-minute mark show some variation in the vocal tone, with one last anthemic pull starting around 03:13 and successfully leading this well-produced track to a satisfying conclusion.

“I’ll Follow” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2019’ Spotify playlist.
