Nature TV – “Inventory”

/

“Inventory” is a gripping track from Nature TV, off the band’s second EP, released today. The Brighton-based quartet showcase a super-smooth soft-rock sound that reminds me fondly of early Hall & Oates, specifically the sound of legendary album Abandoned Luncheonette. Part of the comparison comes via the soaring, confident vocals, which exude a blue-eyed soul quality alongside the mellow guitars and relaxed rhythm section. The “you are here,” vocal hook at 01:40 maintains the melody’s smooth cohesion while allowing the guitars and vocals to stretch out a bit. “Inventory” touts a timeless feel and memorably warm melody, a surefire success from Nature TV.

“Inventory” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the very selective, best-of yearly compilation Best Tracks of 2019.
