Paper Thieves – “Viganella”

/

Eclectic act Paper Thieves impressed last year with “Trouble,” a track that impressed with its murky bass, mellow keys, and brass adornments — sounding like an accompaniment to a spy film, a la Pizzicato Five. The band returns with the track “Viganella” and its engaging, creative music video. Tranquil guitar trickles accompany Leah Christensen’s cool vocals, with washes of synths at the two-minute mark emerging; lush synth pads and melodic stabs become a mainstay at this point throughout the track’s duration, especially during the delectably synth-driven interlude at 02:30. Chalk “Viganella” as another stellar success from Paper Thieves.

“Viganella” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.
