The Good Manners – “Walk Or Talk”

“Walk Or Talk” is a funky new track from The Good Manners, an act that cites influences ranging from “Bill Withers and Sly & the Family Stone to Anderson .Paak and Mac Demarco.” Marcos and Gabriel, the project’s members, forge an infectious groove on “Walk Or Talk,” the guitar swipes and gyrating bass line becoming accompanied by soulful backing vocals past the one-minute mark. The strong rhythm section would sound great on a subwoofer, which provides a better audio experience. Shortly thereafter, a lusher bridge emerges, with tranquil guitar tones and emerging strings. The brief, delicate interlude does well in providing a contrast to the funk-forward sound that follows in the final couple minutes. The final minute exudes some major Sly Stone vibes, capping this gem off with infectious allure.

“Walk Or Talk” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Funk, Soul, and R&B.
