Mankind Forever – “One Day We’ll Look Down On the World We Created”

/

Following a hiatus where each member worked on solo projects, Mankind Forever has returned with the track “One Day We’ll Look Down On the World We Created.” With the project presently based betweeen both Brooklyn and Dallas, members Cole Burnett and Nathan De La Cruz also have an EP on the way, releasing this fall. “One Day…” represents a stylistic shift of sorts for the band. An assortment of piano layers assembles in the first minute, with guitars and rhythms eventually entering the fold. The “always my only friend,” vocal section and presence in general reminds fondly of LCD Soundsystem. Similar to that artist, the track touts a hypnotic feel grounded between electronic and rock influences. “One Day…” is a sturdy, catchy effort from Mankind Forever.

“One Day We’ll Look Down On the World We Created” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2019’ Spotify playlist.
