Sleepy House – “Spaceships” + “Nana’s Happy Song”

/

Comprised of Los Angeles-based vocalist Jake Dupre and Berkeley-based guitarist/producer Luca Brown, Sleepy House churn out impressive pop music from their Berkeley bedroom studio. California duo Sleepy House emphasize catching hooks and lush production on tracks “Spaceships” and “Nana’s Happy Song” — both released today as “a two song single pack dedicated to Antoinette Helen Shipkey.” “Nana’s Happy Song” touts some Hall & Oates vibes with its soulful croon and tender guitar twangs. Meanwhile, “Spaceships” presents as a nocturnal groover, yearning with its catchy “lookin’ for the time,” verses and synth-wavering hook. Both are quite impressive, showcasing a duo that’s bound to rise.

“Spaceships” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2019’ Spotify playlist.
